Bull Bay Golf Club

Bull Bay Golf Club is the most northerly course in Wales - the host country for the 2010 Ryder Cup. A Celtic nation steeped in history, proud of its culture, renowned for its scenic beauty and blessed with some of the best golf in the British Isles.

Few can rival the spectacular setting of the 18 hole championship course at Bull Bay, laid out above the rugged coastline on the beautiful holiday island of Anglesey, with panoramic views of the mountains of Snowdonia and over the Irish Sea to the Isle of Man and the distant hills of the Lake District.

extra_business_desc_460.jpeg Founded in 1913 and the only course in Wales created by Herbert Fowler , his design at Bull Bay was influenced by his most famous work at Walton Heath. Using the natural features of the land he built a course that climbs and falls, twists and turns, through valleys and on plateau, between rocky outcrops and areas of gorse - a spectacular riot of scented flowers when in full bloom

extra_business_desc_527.jpeg With its modern clubhouse and superb facilities, visitors are guaranteed a warm welcome and excellent value for money. Due to the nature of the land and the favourable weather enjoyed by the area, the course which is always maintained to the highest standard, is playable throughout the year, offering a memorable round of golf for players of all abilities. The club motto is “Her Deg ar Hen Dir” meaning an honest challenge on ancient land, and with a blend of traditional and modern, lush fairways and superb greens, visitors to Bull Bay are assured of an experience to remember.

Now, within easy reach of England, Ireland and the rest of Wales - with excellent road and ferry connections - why not visit a “genuine hidden gem of a course well worth seeking out as much for its setting as its challenge” Golf Monthly April 1999.

The modern clubhouse at Bull Bay offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere to golfers and non-golfers alike within which to enjoy the excellent facilities.

The lounges and restaurant on the upper floor are spacious and light with large windows offering panoramic views over the course, the Irish Sea and on a clear day the distant hills of the Isle of Man and Cumbria. With doors opening out from the lounge area onto a balcony overlooking the 1st tee and the 18th green and with a well stocked bar, where better can you find to enjoy a relaxing drink with friends after an memorable round of golf.

With a separate restaurant area seating up to 70 and a TV lounge and games room with 50” plasma screen and pool table, the clubhouse can cater for all your requirements - be it a visiting golf society or a private function.

In addition to draught and keg beers and a varied wine list, the bar has a fine selection of whiskeys from Scotland, Ireland and Wales! Choices of bar snacks are available as well as a more extensive “a la carte” menu in the restaurant by prior arrangement.

The clubhouse has ladies, gentlemen’s’ and junior locker rooms with shower facilities, a golf shop and secretary’s office. All areas of the clubhouse have full disabled access.
